The dictation and theory mid-term exam marks will be posted on the notice board at Departamento by the end of next week or on Tuesday 9^th at the latest. The written make-up exams are scheduled for October 15^th at 2 p.m. Thank you.

Monday 1st - Dictation and transcription practice

Dear students.

On Monday 1^st after testing group 1 (at about 3.30 p.m.) I’m going to give you some practice on phonemic dictation and allophonic transcriptions (room MM1). See you then.

1ST WRITTEN MID-TERM EXAM

Dear students

The first mid-term exam will consist, as usual, of three parts. Dictation, theory and diction. The dictation and theory parts will be on Tuesday 25^th at 10 a.m. As for the oral exam, please check the entry below.  The topics for the theory exam are the following:

Ø      Elision

Ø      Assimilation

Ø      English accents: RP and Estuary English

Ø      RP changes in the 20^th century

Ø      English and Spanish fricatives

Ø      English and Spanish plosives

Ø      English and Spanish affricates

No allophonic transcriptions of sentences will be tested. However, you'll be expected to provide the allophonic transcriptions of the examples you may be required to give in the exam. If you happen to have any questions, please contact me. See you

Dictation nº2: The meeting

 You have dictation nº 2 uploaded in the system. The deadline has changed and you have time to do it till September 20th. Do not leave the task for the last moment and don`t forget to correct the dictation at least twice. Good luck
